Responsibilities
- Overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from planning to implementation, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and inline with required quality standards
- Pro-actively determining risks and preparing technical solutions to mitigate these risks in the future
- Hiring and training data engineers, assigning tasks, setting goals and expectations, and monitoring performance
- Communicating with customers and reporting the project status regularly collaboratively with Project Management Team
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define project scopes, requirements, and timelines
- Designing and building robust data pipelines and databases that are efficient, scalable, and maintainable
- Ensure that all team members comply with predefined quality, security, development, architectural standards
- Working closely with other teams such as data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide them with the necessary infrastructure and tools
- Staying informed about the latest trends and developments in data engineering and ensuring that the team is using the latest tools and techniques
- Ensuring that data governance policies are enforced, data comply with applicable regulations and best practices for data security
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical amp; Electronics Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years experience in Data Engineering roles and 2+ years experience in leading roles
- Willingness to learn more about new languages and frameworks
- Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
- Good team player, result-oriented attitude, and analytical mind
- Advanced level of English
- No military obligation for male candidates for at least 2 years
Preferred qualifications
- People management amp; team leadership skills you have experience hiring and leading a high-performing data engineering team
- Experience in managing projects and leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions within specified timelines and budgets
- Strong SQL knowledge (you would rate your SQL skills gt;8/10)
- Proficiency in languages like Python, SQL, as well as big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL Databases; Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, MariaDB, Elastic stack
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Ability to design and implement scalable, cloud-based data solutions
- Experience working with Google BigQuery
- Experience with Machine Learning (Google BigQuery ML is a bonus)
