Job Description
We view empty seats in traffic as both the cause of the problem and its solution. There are more than 50,000 buses in Istanbul operating at 9% efficiency and we want to solve this problem. Making shuttle buses smarter, more efficient, and dynamic can create an alternative transportation network that can replace even car ownership.
Volt Lines, today, is a subscription-based transportation service and our passion is all about solving urban mobility problems. Think of Volt Lines as the Netflix of transportation. Instead of companies renting physical buses, companies now can buy a monthly subscription per employee that gives users access to the whole Volt Lines network straight from the app. In 2020 we launched Volt Lines DRT (demand-responsive transport) allowing irregular commuters to tap onto the Volt Lines network for an easier and safer commute.
We are looking for iOS developers, to help us build and deploy forward-thinking solutions for the future of transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our technical leaders to set out a vision for our mobile engineering.
- Perform development tasks including unit tests considering scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Perform code reviews to drive teams to the highest standards for mobile applications development.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Android and mobile development technologies.
- Coach, guide, and mentor mobile developers on best practices to grow into their work.
- Proactively identify issues and solutions that help improve software quality.
- Work with product managers, other experienced developers, and architects in both horizontal and vertical teams.
Requirements
- Min. 4 years of mobile development experience in crafting pixel-perfect apps.
- Excellent knowledge of Kotlin and Java programming languages, and OO design principles, min. 3 years. required.
- A basic understanding of Android design principles, patterns, and guidelines is a must.
- Solid understanding of MVP, MVC, MVVM, and Dependency Injection principles.
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle, including code signing and submitting to the PlayStore/HuaweiStore.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience in Swift, Cocoa Touch, and iOS application development.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience in building UI, Integration, and Unit Testing.
- Familiarity developing with map libraries such as Google Maps.
- Proficient knowledge of using version control systems: Git is preferred.
