As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for and part of our Cloud Engineering team. You will be converting the technical requirements of a project into the architecture and design that will guide the final product of our clients. Also you will be responsible for bridging the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud. As part of our Cloud team, you will be in charge of the overall health of multiple applications and their operating environments while interacting with development team members to design and deliver the applications with high availability and stability. You will have a chance to apply your cloud and CI/CD skills working with cloud-based resources to define standards and processes for the development and deployment of scalable, reliable applications. You will also be responsible to lead your cloud team members from technical and motivational perspectives.Responsibilities
- Taking hands-on technical ownership of 2-3 client implementation projects simultaneously and drive them towards value realization by understanding and translating the client’s business needs to solutions
- Collaborating with other technical leaders and business stakeholders to align all constraints and come up with solutions regarding project/product/initiative outputs.
- Performing pre-sales consultancy by supporting status quo in client meetings, help the client decide the solutions , service in alignment with expectations, help Account, New Business , Engineering stakeholders to define strategy , offerings (specific to a project)
- Investigating new techniques, tools, methods that might increase efficiency among engineering , technology and cloud teams, as well as leading execution processes of topics evaluated , planned for roll-out.
- Designing and implementing cloud-based services running on cloud Infrastructure and ensuring that they meet the business objectives and adhere to service level agreements (SLA).
- Being accountable for the selection and provisioning of network, reliability and security of cloud infrastructure and services according to the requirements.
- Proving visibility of performance, cost, and the security of cloud infrastructure and services. Driving continuous improvement, continuous delivery, and lean practices within the cloud team.
- Identifying emerging technology solutions that reduce cost, increase efficiencies, enhance capabilities, reduce risk and improve security.
- Ensuring that all cloud technology applications create a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of Team Management experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation
- Must have AWS Solution Architect Professional or AWS DevOps Professional Certification (or comparable certification/ credentials)
- Knowledge of cloud providers such as Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud etc. in addition to AWS will be a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, GitLab
- Experience with containerized systems and experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Experience with Configuration Management tools such as Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet
- Experience with APM tools such as Newrelic, AppDynamics Knowledge of Shell scripting such as Bash, Sh, Zsh
- Experience in Relational / NoSQL Database Systems and In-memory Cache Systems
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
