Job Overview
QA tester is primarily responsible for checking our daily product for issues, mostly by manual testing. QA tester runs various tests on the product to ensure it meets all standards and guidelines and is ready to be marketed to consumers. QA tester also generates reports, works with software developers to correct issues, and updates documentation as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a QA Tester at AdColony, you will be using and growing your test skills by researching and implementing new test approaches, and actively sharing knowledge across the team. You will also be working closely with the development team to understand features, implementation details, and usage models; and use that data to develop a more improved test strategy. You will have a role in defining the ship quality of your features and will have the final ‘ship it’ call.This person will be responsible for the NA Region.
Qualifications
2+ years’ worth of familiarity and understanding of QA methodologies in an SDLC.Fluent in verbal and written English.1+ years’ worth of experience using a bug management system, preferably JIRA.Experience with A-Z of testing process (preparing the test plan, suite, cases; setting up the environment for tests; running the tests; reporting bugs along with issues after trying and identifying the root cause, possibly via debugging; following up with fixes for the previously reported issues and verifying them; completing the test suite; preparing the reportof the test plan and presenting it to stakeholders).Familiar with using Android, iOS and MacOS.Patient with challenging tasks and passionate for improvement.Strong and creative testing aptitude. Ability to identify test cases and product features beyond obvious functionality.Able to work with the team and put the team first. Willing to share knowledge with anyone, any time.Open to work between 16:00 and 01:00.
Preferred ExperienceExcellent in verbal and written English.Familiarity with Scrum/Agile SDLC, with having worked in such anenvironment.Solid experience in using Android, iOS and MacOS.Experience in working on Android and iOS. Having used Android Studio and Xcode for deployment and debug purposes.Familiarity with programming languages and coding at the level of coding a small-sized project; preferably JavaScript, Java, or Swift.Should be able to read the code and have an idea of what’s happening.Understanding of SQL commands, experience with pulling data from GBQusing SQL.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability, patience and virtue to see what’s barely there and dig it up.Certification from one of the established Testing Boards (i.e., ISTQB,ASTQB etc.)Experience with Web UI automation by coding.Eager to learn, self-improve, and improve the product/project life cycle by taking initiative.Able to decipher internal tools without further assistance.Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a good concept of time management.
