We are looking for a Design Director to join our global team and be the ultimate owner for all design related endeavors from defining our Brand Identity, Design System, User Flows to Marketing Materials.
The role will be the first full time Design professional at Cherry - and will be empowered to build a team over time to support our needs. Key Responsibilities
- Create a strong and customer-centric Design culture within Cherry, fostering an empowered and unified team
- Work with product managers to translate the product vision and objectives into a user experience that enables powerful experiences
- Develop all visuals, wireframes, storyboards, flows, and iterate from rough sketches to spec-ready materials
- Define a unified Design voice and vision that is expressed across all mediums
- Partner with cross-functional leads from Product, Analytics, Marketing, Program, and Engineering to deliver on design needs effectively
- Own the maintenance and evolution of Cherry's Design System
- Be the owner and the defender the Cherry's Brand Identity and guidelines and continuously improve on it
- Promote our user’s right for an effective user experience by collecting and acting on user feedback
What you need?
- 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer - industry experience e.g. financial services, fintech is a MAJOR plus
- Design Leadership and People Management role
- Deep curiosity, empathy, and cultural sensitivity, able to engage with User Research to learn about our customers through the end to end design process
- Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps with a particular focus for mobile-web based products
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch or other visual design and wire-framing tools
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping is a plus
- Experience working on cross-functional teams within Agile development cycles
- Experience building out and maintaining a Design System for complex mobile apps
- Up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies
- Proven amp; demonstrable UI/UX design skills with a strong portfolio
- BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related is a plus
