As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be expected to:

  • Be able to discuss, plan and carry out your or the team's initiatives.
  • Take a sustainable and automated approach when building and designing systems.
  • Research and Recommend sustainable enhancements in deploying and managing distributed systems, and other devops tasks.
  • Actively participate in road mapping, ideations, iteration planning.
  • Analyse and understand metrics, performance, reliability, etc of systems.
  • Handle release responsibility which rotates through the team. Promote and provide continuous improvements to our Release Management.
  • Understand and adhere to best security practices (application and infrastructure).
  • Documenting architecture changes, KBAs, etc.
  • Partake in a rotation of being on call and release management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you must meet these requirements:

  • Strong CI/CD experience deploying Microservices using one of the following Azure Pipelines, Concourse, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab, GitHub, Octopus Deploy.
  • Experience with Nomad/Kubernetes/Docker Swarm/Mesos/Openshift.
  • Strong experience in the Observability space new relic, datadog, Prometheus, telegraf, Grafana, etc, etc.
  • Be familiar with at least one leading public cloud provider Azure, AWS, Google or have experience with a private cloud provider like vsphere, openstack.
  • Strong and positive team player combined with interpersonal skills. Have a growth mindset and encourage other members on the team through continuous feedback.
  • Strong Linux/Windows and Distributed Systems troubleshooting skills.
  • Have worked with or supported tools like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, .NET Core, NodeJS, Python, Terraform.
