Our client is a global shipping company. We are looking for an experienced Regional Payroll Lead.
The purpose of the role is to support the regional payroll organization, working with a matrixed group of stakeholders and vendors to ensure great employee experience and regulatory compliance from a payroll delivery perspective. This role reports to the Europe Regional Head of Payroll, Time amp; Attendance. This role is responsible for the countries that scope Turkey, Israel, Bulgaria, Romania, Lebonan, Ukraine, and Georgia.
They work in a hybrid work setup.

- Manage a team of payroll specialists (4 at the moment)
- Lead a team of ‘Payroll specialists’ and administrators to translate the regional goals and service delivery - deliver high quality and on-time outputs in relation to Payroll, Time and Attendance in order to enable a great employee experience
- Manage the payroll delivery to exact global standards and business specific needs
- Translate the governance structure by defining and executing the right payroll metrics at the country and legal entity level
- Implement the agreed model to identify, report, mitigate and track risks in the payroll delivery process
- Act as the anchor point for managing 'Audits’ both internal amp; external
- Manage the timely submission of RICC controls
- Monitor performance metrics and identify patterns. In case of underperformance, help fix the issue by working with the respective payroll specialist
- Bring to the fore any improvement initiatives for global consideration and vindication
- Act as a sparring partner to people advisors and reward delivery teams
Candidate Requirements
- Similar experience in managing a team of payroll specialists preferably in an international organization
- Deep understanding of legal payroll requirements and personal administration processes in the region. (Multi-country experience is good to have
- Fluency in English is required
- Actively discuss and implement risk mitigation strategies, experience in Risk amp; Compliance, payroll related Accounting knowledge
- Be a natural leader and passionate about driving team engagement and change
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and a natural trustworthy presence toward business leaders and stakeholders
- External Vendor management skills and ability to govern payroll processes by metrics
- A process and continuous improvement mindset who takes pride in delivering high-quality and efficient payroll services
- Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork to achieve results
- Customer-centric putting employee experience at the center
- Workday experience is preferred
- Low tolerance for delays and deviations
