Main purpose of position
The Regional Cereal Rust Research Center in Izmir, Turkey is a state-of-the-art cereal rust research center with regional responsibility for coordination of rust surveillance, regional race analysis of cereal rust pathogens, precise assessment of rust resistance in breeding germplasm, training and backstopping of the national rust programs. The recruited staff will provide technical support to the research team for routine ongoing work under laboratory and field conditions.

All CGIAR Centers are currently engaged into a reform process (One CGIAR’) that will help ICARDA and CGIAR achieve better impact through more strategically integrated research, unified governance, an integrated structure and new research modalities across participating Research Centers. Terms of appointment, salary, and benefits
This is a nationally recruited position for which ICARDA offers an attractive compensation package including a competitive salary, medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, five months’ maternity leave, 15 days’ paternity leave. The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract of 1 year, renewable subject to continued need for the position and satisfactory performance. The first 6 months will be probationary period.
